davisthomas has over fifteen years of experience developing concepts and fabricating artworks for public sites. Our art practice is primarily sculptural and installation focused, which is underpinned by the principle of the participatory experience of the audience, instigated through creating works that are relevant and responsive to the location. Each commission is based on a discovery process that entwines the historical and current social, physical, and environmental elements: the context of the site, into the artwork. Through this methodology, we create artwork that is in and of that place. 

By creating a richly layered artwork, we draw upon the audiences’ personal experiences to engender connections and transactions between themselves, the site, and the artwork. Our approach is holistic, from concept through fabrication and installation. We bring considerable experience in collaborating with professionals from the design sector, landscape architecture, architects, and developers.

davisthomas is a hybrid of artistic practice, creative curatorial practice, design, fabrication skills and engineering principles, producing artworks that fuse conceptual and physical relationships to the contextual and spatial nature of a site.
