Surrender to Gail Sorronda's engaging fashion journey.

From humble beginnings at QUT to international success, Gail Reid is taking the fashion world by storm.

Gail launched her label, Gail Sorronda, in 2005 after winning the Mercedes-Benz Start-Up Awards with her debut collection.

While Gail's label has continued to evolve, her penchant for angular, modern and ethereal designs continues to earn her international attention. Gail Sorronda is now stocked in Japan, the Middle East and Italy, including the Dolce & Gabbana boutique in Milan.

Gail has designed for Target, was selected as a finalist for the 2010 L'Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival Designer Award and her label has graced the pages of the September issue of Vogue Italia.

Fashion Talks | Lara Karamian

After graduating from Sydney's University of Technology in event management, Lara Karamian started her own company Lara Inc. It is now one of Australia's leading runway, fashion and lifestyle event agencies.

Some of her clients include Alex Perry, Westfield, ACP magazines, Louis Vuitton, Marie Claire and David Jones, to name a few! Lara will be coming to QUT Creative Industries Precinct to share her story, industry experience and what lies ahead for her company and fashion.

 

Fashion Talks | Black Milk

Black Milk is one of Australia's most innovative fashion labels and is creating waves internationally. The Brisbane-based business has developed a huge cult following, building the brand from the bottom up using word-of-mouth and social media. Black Milk recently collaborated with shoe phenomenon Jeffrey Campbell and has just signed a deal of a lifetime with Lucasfilms to produce Star Wars images on its clothing range.

Black Milk marketing manager Cameron Parker will be at Creative Industries Precinct to speak about the label's success, its future endeavours and his experience in the fashion industry. So get your leggings and Star Wars swimsuits on and come along to hear about the future of fashion.

The highly anticipated QUT Fashion SWAP event is on again and promises to be more fashionably fabulous than ever before. Join us for a night of vintage glamour with a vintage fashion parade, stylist competition, retro photo station and a special performance by Aurora and Daisy.
