Australian Virtual Reality Film Festival 2017

Launching its inaugural event in August 2017, the Australian Virtual Reality Film Festival will showcase the virtual reality films and creative works. Selections have been handpicked from across the globe to help people to experience and appreciate this ground-breaking form.

As Virtual Reality technology is still in an early adoption phase, this festival aims to introduce the public to the creative potential with a program of national and international films, across narrative, educational, and music video genres. A selection of short films, music videos, and documentaries that integrate the use of virtual reality technology have been chosen by the curatorial team to showcase the work of the next generation of filmmakers.  AVRFF is a platform for innovative filmmakers to present their art form in a space that promotes creative development and industry discussion.

Opening night included a keynote by Oscar Raby, Co-Founder and Creative Director at VRTOV.

AVRFF is supported by Screen Queensland and hosted by Brisbane Powerhouse.
