Augmenting Hassell Architects studio foyer, 50m of sprung steel is held in suspended balance. poised steel is a work held in suspended balance; poised, in a state of fluidity, captured by contingent forces exerted by the counter strung shock chord straps.  The fluidity of form cascades, weaves, twists and turns throughout the periphery of the space, whilst allowing un-interupted access into the area. Thus creating a dynamic, intimate meeting space. The artwork contemplates notions of materiality, tension,equilibrium and release. poised steel is an artwork in a state of equilibrium under tension.
