Telltale is a site-responsive artwork drawing inspiration from the social, environmental and historical context of the area. This kinetic artwork reflects upon and is a visual articulation of the dynamic interplay between Wind, Water, Sail, and Hull. The work echoes a bygone era of wooden planked hulls and canvas sails, and the sleek lines of contemporary racing yachts. The maritime navigation numbering represents the start and finish lines for the Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race, and the third element pays homage to the classic sailing ketch the Laurabada, and her remarkable 50-year racing legacy.
