Flutter consists of three dynamic kinetic sculptural elements standing 12m in height, designed to visually amplify the hidden and complex dance of the wind. Each element consists of 25 stylised foils that can freely and independently rotate around the vertical structure on Teflon bearings. A variation in wind speed and direction activates these foils collectively like a wind vane through to more complex patterns of spiralling vortices within gusts. When calm, the foils all return to a uniform position, poised ready for activation.
